identification test | 500mg of sample is mixed with 10ml dilute hydrochloric acid test solution (TS-117), filtered, and neutralized with ammonia test solution (TS-13) until litmus paper is neutral. The magnesium test (IT-21) of the filtrate after neutralization was positive. Dip several grains of sodium ammonium phosphate crystals with a platinum wire ring, melt them into small balls on a colorless flame, dip the sample while it is hot, and then melt. Silicon dioxide floats on the surface of the small balls, is cooled, and is an opaque small ball with a network structure. This indicates that the silicon test is positive. Solubility is insoluble in water and ethanol (OT-42). It is easy to decompose in case of inorganic acid. The pH value of the 10% slurry is 7.0~10.8. |
content analysis | analysis of magnesium oxide content accurately weigh about 1.5g of the sample, put it into a 250ml conical flask, add 50.0ml of 1mol/L sulfuric acid, and boil it in a steam bath for 1h. Cool to room temperature, add 1 drop of methyl orange test solution (TS-148), and titrate excess acid with 1mol/L sodium hydroxide solution. 1mol/L sulfuric acid per ml is equivalent to MgO 20.15mg. Analysis of silica content: take a sample of about 700mg, weigh it to 0.1mg, put it into a 150ml beaker, add 20ml of 1mol/L sulfuric acid, heat it on a steam bath for 1.5h, decant the supernatant, filter it out with ash-free filter paper, wash the residue in the beaker with hot water three times, and pass through the filter paper. The residue was impregnated with 25ml of water and boiled on a steam bath for 15min. Finally, the residue is removed from the filter paper and washed onto the filter paper with hot water. Move the filter paper and filter residue into the platinum crucible. Heat to dry and cauterize, burn intensively for 30min, cool and weigh. Moisten the residue with water. Add 6ml of hydrofluoric acid and 3 drops of sulfuric acid. Evaporate to dry, burn for 5min, cool and weigh. The weight lost by the sample is the weight of SiO2. |
